I will give you my own example to illustrate this Blunt Point.

I Completed my Engineering Degree in Electronics. Before that i did my Diploma in Computer Technology. I thought i know a lot about computers ( Thats what i thought, and most people think about when they know something about a particular field)
So i started a Business in Computer Sales, Servicing and Training. All went well with the opening of the office, putting up interiors, buying equipments etc. even started advertising. And then for 2 full long years, kept doing something, which we thought was doing Business. Earning only to continue in Business.

Sometimes we often thought
" It would have been better if we were Employed in a BIG Company, with BIG FAT Salary" we would at least made good money.

We realized that we were actually Putting in Our Time and Efforts to be self employed. We were Not a business, we were self employed. Now you may ask , whats the difference between Self employed and Business?
and whats wrong in doing  it?Nothing wrong in doing it.( Thats the way 90% of people are doing it Now anyway)

The difference in being self-employed and A Business is that - In Self-Employment ( as a Doctor,Lawyer,C.A. Real Estate agents and Skilled experts who sell their expertise) the time of the owner is converted into money, if that person is not available in office or for giving service, the so called Business stops and money stops coming.

In a Business, SYSTEM works for the owner, here people will do their jobs for the person, process work for the owner, Money and Infrastructure works for the Owner, Machine and Software work for the owner.

Please understand the difference. A Self-employed person may use a Software and machine for his use, However, he himself is required to use them. I.e a Doctor uses a Sonography machine , however he has to read the result and diagnose and give a report. Whereas if It was a business, The Owner Doctor would have assistant Doctors Employed by him, who will do the JOB.

Just Ask yourself, if you are not physically present at the Office / clinic or service area, Do you earn money? if yes, how long? if it does not pay you, it means you are self-employed only.

In a Business, the SYSTEM will work for you, you will keep getting money and you keep earning in your absense.

So a Business is superior to Self-employed in earning money. ( potential)

Self-employed person may do better than a Employed person.

This is the Norm, however there are several instances where people who are in Business earn less than the people who do service. A Person in business may be earning Rs.25,000/- a month , and a Person who has service earns Rs.40,000 /- a month, which is better? well you need to answer that question, what suits You.

Coming back to our business...

and then came the point, where we were STUCK.
We din't know for what we started the Business.( Money was one main reason Obviously) But, Tell me, how many people survive in Business who only come in Business for Money? ( i mean Only money)

There has to be some very good reason.
what are your VALUES, Your BELIEFS, Your CORE PASSION. The reason of your Being.

We were STUCK, without Direction, not knowing what we are doing correctly, what we were doing Incorrectly, what we were not doing, which we should have. and sometimes not even thinking about it.

I started looking out for the reasons of the Mediocre Results with my Business, I did found out the Solution for my State of Business. I found the Answer only after 7 years of search. Because I was searching the Problem and solution somewhere else.

What I Found

I found that the Reason I was Doing like any other small Business and getting Mediocre Results, wafer thin margins, hardly any profits and Lots of stress.

I found that I did not know what Business actually meant. I found a the missing  link in the book by Robert Kiyosaki "Rich Dad Poor Dad" . There he explained the quadrants. There i was, all enlightened. I atleast knew where i was. I found that i was not running a business, the business was running me. The Business was not making money for me. that was a rude shock to me. I did not have a SYSTEM for business which could make money for me.

i learnt one more very important thing in life.

One more very important thing which i found was, there was No one Place where i could find all the information on Business. Information which "Started from Start and gave Step-By-Step Process of running a Business"
Most Books tell you what to do, they Don't tell you How to do, Step by step? ( few exceptions are there, however those books have a very limited scope and are focused in that particular segment. Example, you will find books on advertising, Marketing, Human resources, accounting, strategy, tactics,planning, organising. Its so difficult to actually apply to your business.
All those books are more general. They may or may not apply to your business.

The Best Information which is relevant to your specifc business will be only available from the people who are doing that business and then various books, seminar workshops and Interviews. and thats the easiest way to learn fast.

Internet is the best source to find and get information, however now the problem is that too many advertisers, same information packed in different outer covers.also with so many options, you don't know which to buy.
